We all have the ability to tap into the powerful creative mind that is available at all times.  How can we do this? Simply by becoming more mindful of our surroundings.  My personal yoga practice has definitely enhanced my life and my daily teaching experience.  Learning to pay attention to my breath and stay present each moment with my students has become a normal habit.  Have you slowed down to observe your breathing lately? The rhythm of your breath can tell you a lot about your way of life and the need for bringing in more WELLBEING into your lifestyle.

One breath at a time, one act of BEING present with yourself in a deeper way.

I was in  a school bus with my teacher friends for 7-8 hours today.  We left Niger very early this morning heading to Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, West Africa.  I made an inner commitment to relax in my seat and simply stay centered within that core of my being that knows ALL IS WELL at all times.  I read a few pages out of a book, I closed my eyes and let my breath take me to the joy alreay present within myself.  It was as if I was there with everyone, being aware of conversations, yet I was somewhere else very special: in that sacred space I have been experiencing in my daily meditations.  As thoughts were coming to me, I let them dance on a blank paper, infusing my present moment with a new creative richness. When it was all over, I was grateful for such a nice trip!  As we got off the bus into the heavy heat of the afternoon, I looked up and smiled… I was standing underneath a mango tree filled with ripe mangoes!  Ripe was my inner delight!  As I looked around, everyone seemed caught up in some drama related to luggage, heat and tiredness… I acknowledged the beauty and wealth of that moment once again and smiled.
